The name ‘Avant D’art’ draws inspiration from the dual meaning of the term ‘avant-garde,’ which refers to both the military concept of ‘pioneering, leading ahead, clearing traps, and exploring,’ and the context in which French philosopher Henri de Saint Simon proclaimed, ‘We artists will serve you (the public) as the avant-garde. We artists will be the ones serving you as pioneers. To have a positive impact on society, to fulfill a true sacred function, and to be the vanguard of all in an age where intellectual abilities experience their greatest growth is such a beautiful service for art!”
